Senseless Notes -- The Future's NOT So Bright I Gotta Wear Shades

18 to 24 Year Olds Would Consider Leaving Their Job If Facebook Was Banned

From IT Business Edge.  "I swear, I'm using it for work!".  But there aren't many useful work related applications to most people's facebook profiles.  Sure, social net working CAN be used but mostly if the network is made up of just employees or a particular profession.
It doesn't really matter.  Most 18 to 24 year olds would know about the services that let you surf any blocked site by sneaking through their server (called proxy sites) like unblockmywork.com or any of the many others.  So there's no reason for these youngsters to sound like douchebags by saying they'll quit if facebook is blocked.  Sometimes they can't help it.

From the Press-Register in Alabama:  Believe me, the heat makes you forget stuff you just did.  The first two days of this work week had me in a brain-melt haze wondering why the air tasted like oven.  Hopefully this guy can claim that it wasn't premeditated armed robbery; that might hold up.  However if it all went according to a plan, he just might be ready to graduate to bank robbery when he gets out of the slammer.

Asheville is a beautiful place, but I've heard it has a bit more than its fair share of rusty "mobile housing units".

Senseless Notes -- A Bad Day, Getting A DWI For Driving Your Motorized Cooler

Some local news!!!!!  This from the front page of Tuesday's Post Star in Glens Falls.  Now I've heard lots of stories about guys losing their licenses due to repeat drunk driving offenses so that they drive their riding lawn mower to the store to pick up their 30-pack of Keystone Light.  But this guy was joy riding on the sidewalk atop his motorized cooler.  The cooler contained the beers that he had not yet consumed, but apparently he'd had a few.  It seems to me this device was designed FOR drinking and driving.  But he found out the hard way that it's still in fact illegal.  And to add some more fines, there was no registration sticker on the cooler.  I've found them to be very nice down at the DMV, but if someone walked up and wanted to register their cooler, that would certainly invite a staple to the forehead from the clerk.

Makes Sense To Me -- Cars Don't Go As Far With Less Fuel

It makes sense mostly because it almost happened to me.  Only it was just because I got a late start and didn't have time (or think) to get gas.  But let me tell ya, heading deep into the Adirondacks where there's no wireless phone service makes that "low fuel" light burn at ya a wee bit brighter.
